Problem Solution Essay in Google Classroom

Problem Solution Essay

Throughout this unit, you have explored how design thinking can help people solve problems. You conducted research about a subject of your choosing and planned your own problem-solution essay to convey the results of your research. Remember that the research and the essay answer the research question how was design thinking used to solve this critical problem?
In this four-day assessment, you will now draft the full essay.

REMEMBER: A well-written informative piece
·      clearly states a focus and stays focused throughout the piece;
·      uses accurate and relevant examples, details, and quotations to explain your thinking;
·      groups information logically, in a way that makes your thinking clear to the reader;
·      maintains a formal style and objective tone;
·      follows rules of writing (spelling, punctuation, and grammar); and
·      uses precise language and domain-specific vocabulary to explain about the topic.
Use your writing planner to help guide your writing. Manage your time carefully so that you can do the following:
1.     Draft your introduction.
2.     Draft your problem paragraph.
3.     Draft your solution paragraph.
4.     Draft your conclusion.
5.     Use the Informative-Explanatory Writing Checklist to revise and edit your draft.

Attached below is a writing checklist, the exemplar essay, the doc for you to write your essay, and you should be able to see the grading rubric.

You will also need to turn in your note catchers as part of this final grade as well.  80% of the grade will be the Paper graded with the Rubric,  10% will be your completed note catcher, 5% will be your writing check list and 5% will be your essay planner also attached below.  If you completed the note catcher in google docs you will need to attach it here  for a grade.
