Unit 4: Human Impact Final Assessment

Awesome building this unit and making those life connections to see what we can do, and are doing, towards less of an impact on our planet and those affected by it; birds.

The key to performing well on this quiz is to be detailed and keep connecting the science clearly in your answers. 😉

Point value varies by question. Go into detail!
You may use your notes and LEGO book.

Earth Day Virtual Field Trip- Asynchronous Day 4/19 🚍 in Google Classroom

Earth Day Virtual Field Trip- Asynchronous Day 4/19 🚍

Love this one! Start off with watching the videos to get an idea of what this is all about. Then, open the Earth Day Virtual Field Trip file and enter slideshow mode. Click on the tickets first then proceed to each numbered step. Full credit for complete sentences and be sure to check your spelling.

The final step is the Photo Album. For the images, I would like for you to either select images from the web that demonstrate or support this year's theme for Earth Day, or.... create your own images that support the theme. *Hint, how you interpret the theme.

2023 Theme: INVEST IN OUR PLANET

Its the Final Forecast🌨☀⛈ Final Project for Unit 4: Weather & Climate

It time for the Final Countdown🎵..I mean Forecast. 😃😜😉 Bringing it altogether and show what you learned.

For this final project, you will be creating a weather forecast based on a random city selected for you. Details will include the science behind the weather front, a 5-day forecast, and of course, you'll make it fun and inventive and entertaining.

It's important to make sure that you meet all the requirements of this project and extra points are awarded for creativity and going above and beyond what's expected. Have fun!

Few Things:
Consider writing a script and practice just like a performance. Watch and re watch all the videos posted throughout this unit, familiarize yourself  again with the vocabulary and terms used.
It is okay to receive help with preparing and producing your video.
Check the rubric people, often, not just once. My expectations are up, its nearly the end of the year. So, bring it!

Campaign for Energy Final Project⚡ in Google Classroom

Campaign for Energy Final Project⚡

There are loads of different words for what a campaign is, some people say activist, change maker, protester, community leader, community organizer etc. I think of a campaigner as anyone who sees something that they want to change in the world and goes about trying to do that.

In this unit we have learn all about energy; where it comes from, different types, and renewable sources. For your final project, it's time to bring it all together in a campaign for energy.

Your task for this group project:

1. Select a form of energy from Ms. Paulson's jar. Your group will be convincing us that your energy source is the ideal energy source.
2. Research and plan your topic and check that all of your facts are correct. What information will you represent and how will you present? Must include local, national, and global impact your energy source has.
3. Create a slogan (a catchphrase or series of words) that represent your energy source
4. A short presentation on your source. Consider a speech or commercial. Convince and inform your audience! Who will do what, when, and how???
5. A poster/campaign device that captures your message. Samples attached.
It is OK to work alongside of others to share resources, skills, and ideas. Scholars may get help from home too with practicing presentations and making campaign items. You will be presenting your own work and are required to complete all steps listed above. Get creative and have fun! Share your passion for this type of energy source!

***Check the rubric and check in with me often, to ensure you are on the right track and meeting the assignment requirements. ***

**Upload or turn in any documents here. You will receive your grade through the GC rubric.
PRESENTATIONS BEGIN FEBRUARY 1, 2023

You will also be grading each other's performance and contribution to the project.
