Film Analysis

Movies, just like novels, play a central role in our lives, and shape the way we see ourselves, our country, and our society. Understanding the influence of film on our culture is crucial, and learning to be savvy and critical viewers will help us be better citizens of the world. Through a variety of genres, including fantasy, drama, documentaries, and sci-fi, scholars will learn to view and analyze film through the lens of literary devices (considering this class is taught by an English teacher, and not someone with a film degree) and to write critically about the movies they consume.
