Mrs. Connie Dove Castilleja, COO

Connie opened The ASK Academy with the founders in 2010.  She currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer and Founder and President of The ASK Education Foundation.  She has served as a charter school director and a district level education administrator for over thirty years.  She came to New Mexico in 2006 to oversee the charter schools for the Albuquerque Public Schools (37 at the time) and has since assisted numerous charter schools with facility acquisition and financing, development, strategic planning for long-term growth and establishing nonprofit education foundations for schools.  She served on the State Leaders Council for New Mexico Charter Schools and was a charter school board member for five years in Albuquerque.  Connie is also a licensed New Mexico Real Estate Qualifying Broker. 

 

Prior to coming to New Mexico, she founded the Volunteer Connection, a tutoring/mentoring organization in Minnesota serving over 5,600 at-risk youth.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hamline University and a Master of Public Affairs degree from the Humphrey School of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota with concentrations in Public and Nonprofit Leadership & Management and Social Policy.

 

Connie is happily married to “Mr. C” who teaches high school Spanish at the Academy.  She has two grown children, eight grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and two step-daughters.  She is very proud of each.  In 2021 they established The Christopher & Connie Castilleja Scholarship fund for ASK scholars.
