Ms Walker's Class Policies
Absences: If you are absent, please check to see what we covered in class, what was assigned, and what was due that day–the responsibility is yours! Make sure to utilize Google Classroom, the Remind app, Ms. Walker's email, as well as information from your peers to do so.
Late Work: When an assignment is late 10% will be docked for each day. Beyond a week is an automatic 0.
Rewrites: I accept rewrites for essays within one week of the original due date. Original essay (and comments) must be attached to any rewrite if they have been received. All essays will be turned in via Google Docs, but rewrites must also include a printed copy.
Quizzes: There will be graded vocab as well as reading quizzes in my English classrooms on Mondays/Tuesdays. If a scholar misses the vocabulary words due to an absence, it is up to them to find the words for the upcoming quiz from peers or Ms. Walker.
Technology: When in the physical classroom, I have a firm no technology policy in my classroom unless explicitly allowed. We are often lucky enough in English courses to be able to take a break from tech, and I encourage myself and scholars to take it! In the virtual classroom world, I will do my best to use technology wisely and incorporate many offline assignments to give scholars a tech break.
Powerschool: Please stay updated with Powerschool at home, as it is the easiest way to keep track of scholar progress.
