Gary K. Feger Profile

Biography

 

Gary has 40 years experience working in the field of Mechanical Engineering.  He recently retired in March of 2022 as a Principal Engineer for Honeywell Aerospace under a contract with the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). His work involved Transportation and Security systems for Special Nuclear Materials. Gary was proud to support our National Security mission and enjoyed working with the NNSA family of customers at Sandia National Labs (SNL), Oak Ridge (OR), Pantex (PTX), Los Alamos (LANL), the United States Air Force (USAF) and the United States Navy (USN).  Gary has completed several courses on Nuclear Weapons Stockpile Training from SNL (2014 - 2020).  In addition he received the NNSA Defense Programs Award of Excellence (2016), Honeywell Aerospace Outstanding Engineer Award (2014), Honeywell President’s Award (2013), and numerous other awards for his Designs.

 

Prior to Honeywell Gary worked in the air conditioning business sector. He has worked on a wide variety of heat transfer systems, clean rooms, and air treatment products receiving a patent for one of his designs (Single Package Vertical Air Conditioning System, Pat. 6,065,296) in May of 2000. He also served in several roles as a company representative to regulatory agencies such as Underwriters Laboratory (UL) and the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI).

 

In addition to engineering design, his experiences include a wide array of Engineering Design, Project Leadership, Project Management positions.  He has worked on multi-million dollar projects for both commercial and government projects, and has experience with Government funded programs.

 

Gary is proud to support a public charter school that provides an education focusing on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

 

Gary received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University in 1982.  Gary grew up in Louisiana and Texas. He loves New Mexico and has lived in Rio Rancho for the last 17 years.  Gary enjoys woodworking, camping, snow skiing, and golf.
