AP Literature and Composition

Welcome to a college level Literature course! In this class we study the beauty and complexity of fiction. We will read short stories, plays, novels, poetry, poetry and more poetry! It's a guaranteed fun time had by ALL.

The AP English Literature and Composition course is designed to engage scholars in the careful reading and critical analysis of imaginative literature. Through the close reading of selected texts, scholars can deepen their understanding of the ways writers use language to provide both meaning and pleasure for their readers. As they read, scholars will consider a work’s structure, style, intertextuality, and themes, as well as such smaller-scale elements as the use of figurative language, imagery, symbolism, and tone. Oh yeah, and I will ask you to make rap songs and modern-day movies out of classic literature.
