Biography
 
Mistie Williamson, Au.D., is a Forensic Audiologist at the New Mexico VA Hospital in Albuquerque.  She started her career in Audiology 23 years ago after earning her Master of Science in Audiology from the University of New Mexico.  Her career began with the VA, specializing in hearing healthcare and treatment with the ever-changing NM Veteran population.  After four years with the VA, she started her course work to complete her Doctorate in Audiology with A.T. Still University of Health Sciences.  After receiving her Doctorate in 2006 she changed her focus to Forensic Audiology, working with Veterans in the disability claims process as it pertains to hearing loss and tinnitus. The most rewarding part of her career is serving Veterans and working closely with their families to improve their quality of life after military service.
 
After finishing high school in western Colorado Mistie attended the University of Southern Colorado (now Colorado State University Pueblo) receiving her Bachelor of Science in Speech and Hearing Sciences.  She met and married her husband in 2004 and they welcomed their only daughter in 2007. Mistie has been an active participant in The ASK Academy Parent Support Committee since 2018 when her daughter entered 6th grade at the Academy.  When Mistie is not working, volunteering at the school or officiating club swimming, she enjoys quiet time with family, working in her garden and walking her dogs.
