The ASK Academy Governing Council would like to announce the hiring of Dr. Alexandra Boyd
for the newly-created position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the school year 2020-21.
Dr. Boyd is currently the Director of Evaluation for the Arkansas Department of Education and
has recently also served there as the Public School Program Coordinator for Charter Schools,
supporting all the charter schools in the state. She has an earned doctorate in Education Policy,
a Master’s degree in Teaching and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and International
Studies. She has taught middle school language arts, science and social studies. The Governing
Council feels her leadership style, experience, vision and personality are a fine fit for ASK at this
time.
Dr. Boyd, her husband Rico Smith and their 3-year old son, Jackson Boydsmith will be moving to
the area in the next few weeks. She will be on board mid-July when administrators report for
the new school year.
