The ASK Academy Androids
Welcome to the online home of The ASK Academy, a science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) innovation. We are located in the beautiful City of Vision, Rio Rancho, New Mexico. ASK is state authorized charter school for 6th through 12th grades scholars interested in STEM careers within the areas of biomedical sciences and engineering and design. ASK teaches with traditional methodologies but also through hands-on, project based learning strategies. Our relationships with local STEM businesses and educational post-secondary partners enable our scholars to learn in a realistic setting. Our curriculum is rigorous and challenging but relevant for the STEM careers for which we prepare our scholars.
Please take the time to browse our website to learn what we are all about. Our unique perspective on teaching and learning allows our scholars to explore concepts in an authentic fashion. If you, or your STEM interested scholar, should have any questions, please contact us for more information.
A Message from Our General Manager
Dear ASK Community,
Welcome to another great year! I hope that you had a chance to enjoy, explore, and relax this summer. We look forward to working with you and your scholars this year to help us further create and grow the best STEM school in the state! Many of our managers spent the summer doing workshops, trainings, and attending conferences to supplement their skills and bring new ideas and energy to your scholar’s work spaces. The managers led STEM camps at New Mexico Tech, attended state trainings to implement new approaches to science, and attended AP and digital electronics trainings. Our managers are always seeking out new approaches to stay in step with our rapidly changing world.
Last year saw our scholars take the skills they learned in their learning spaces and apply them in robotics competitions in Japan, China, and local competitions with an international field. We also had scholars participate in a mock pandemic and response, a national math challenge, and in the STEM challenge at Kirtland Air Force Base. The common thread through all of these activities is investigation, acquisition, and application. Our goal is to have our scholars leave us ready to compete, whether at academic/technical competitions, in their class work, in college, or the work force.
Our goal is always to give your scholars the best educational experience possible. Last year we once again out performed surrounding districts and the state in state reporting, EOC, and ACT scores. We are one of the few schools in the state that achieves both academic and skills readiness, while also exceeding both state and national standards. I can’t wait to see what great things our scholars accomplish this year.
Thank you to all of our new and returning families. Without your support and participation we could not be the academy we are. Have an amazing year!
