2020-21 CP-Meet code 2021cp Assignments

We will present beginning at the start of class. You will be grading and giving feedback on each other's presentations. I will provide a rubric for you. If we don't finish them all in class on December 9th, we will continue on final exam day so that everyone will present. This will be your final exam grade - so DON'T not do it and get a zero on your final exam!!!!!!!

You will be presenting them on Dec 2nd. I will give more details about what that will look like next week. This is a major project. Please find something fun that you enjoy doing and keep track of it. You need to create a work log on a google sheet or google doc and share it will me to keep me updated on what you are doing. You need at least 2 to 3 entries per week about what you have done.

Provide a summary that is at least a paragraph. At least 4 or 5 sentences about your last 2 weeks. Include Thanksgiving or anything else that you might have done over break. Or anything else that you want to mention. :)

Step 2. Pick one goal, and use a flipgrid to explain how it is a SMARTR goal (Specific, Measurable, ,Achievable, Relevant, Timely, and the Resources to be used to achieve this goal.

Write a one-page reflection 😁 about how the agenda-keeping went. Did it help you stay more organized? Did you notice a change in your anxiety levels? Did it help you to write it down or to type it into a virtual calendar? Is this something you want to keep working at? Etc.

Here is your chance to study ANYTHING that you want for the rest of the semester. This is self directed. I will help you use a targeted SMART goal to narrow down what it is you plan to study.

Step 1: Create a list of 10 things you want to become a mini expert on. It can be something like learning to bake a pie from scratch, collecting various dead bugs and doing research on them, delving into the stock market, learning a particular skill (in sports, music, art, etc), ANYTHING!

Step 2: Turn the list into your project manager or create a flipgrid where you discuss the ten items and what you think you would like to explore about them.

Keep an agenda for three weeks straight. Or, if you prefer, keep it in a Google calendar that works too. Things to include:

 Regular blocks of homework time
 Assignments and Assignment due dates
 Work
 Extra- curricular activities
 Test dates
 Dances, parties, dates, celebrations
 Family gatherings, vacations, excursions
 SAT, ACT test dates
 Sign-up deadlines for standardized tests
 Fees—due dates
 Holidays
 *College application due dates
 *College visitation day

I know that you can come up with 6 sentences worth of things that have happened or feelings that you have had (frustrations with school, happy things with family, trips, etc). Less than 6 sentences and you will not score full points.

Turn in your SLATE presentation here. I have attached or will be attaching a rubric, checklist and sample powerpoint. I will share the signup sheet with you.

Decide on a plan for and type of agenda. (Digital or paper) and the layout you will use.
Also, what type of information you plan to keep in it.
How are you going to track completion and time spent on your work.
Block off class time, work time, activity time so that you don't think that you have that time for working.
Show me a sample setup and couple of days filled in for you agenda.

Write a letter to your future self, who is on the verge of graduation.. What do you hope has changed by graduation? What do you hope stays the same? Write three things for each. Include any other details you wish your future self to know. These letters will be returned to you when you are seniors.

It will need to be handwritten and sent to me or brought to school when we come back. It will be returned to you when you are a senior

With your manager’s help, address the letter. If we are still virtual, you will address the letter to The ASK Academy ℅ your CP manager. If we are in-person, please address it to your home address and give it to your teacher to mail when you graduate.

Take a picture of the front of your envelope and submit it via Classroom.

Turn in weekly summary here and email grade check to me, your guardians, and any project managers whose class you have an NC in.

We haven't done a weekly summary in a while, so summarize your last 2 or 3 weeks. Let me know how things are going and what's been going well or not so well. At least a paragraph

Where do you see yourself in 20 years. Draw a picture of your life in 20 years and write a paragraph to go along with it.

Scholars: After taking the career quiz, screenshot the results and turn in to Google Classroom. This allows you to have it for the year and it can be printed out and put in your transition plans or Next Step Plans. Then, reflect on the following questions in complete sentences:

- Do you agree with the results of the survey?

-Has it changed at all since previous years?

- Did you find a career or two that you had been considering?

-Was there any careers on their list that surprised them?

-Choose one career that came up on your list that you think you are most interested in and create a pros and cons list about pursuing that career
