Course Description
The purpose of Fundamental Connections 8 is to help you answer these fundamental questions:
- Who am I?
- What do I want from school?
- What do I want from life?
- What traits do I have that will help me attain my school and life goals?
- What attitudes, skills, and knowledge will I need to develop to attain my school and life goals?
Guided by these essential questions, throughout the year you will develop the soft skills (planning, organization, tenacity, empathy, leadership etc.) necessary for high school success, as well as begin thinking about graduation, college, or (shudder) the wonderful world of gainful employment. We will be using the Naviance website to explore careers, take interest inventories, explore colleges, scholarships and financial aid, as well as create an on-line portfolio. You're probably thinking it is too early to start looking at colleges, but they all have different course and testing requirements for admission, and we will be planning for your high school courses this year! So, let's do this!
